Lin is a small peninsula on the western shore of Lake Ohrid with a beautiful village of the same name. The houses are made of stone and bricks on the sides of the narrow streets shadowed with grape vines. There are opinions that once the peninsula of Lin had been a beautiful island with blooming vegetation.

Here, in Lin lies the famous basilica as well as 8 rare mosaics dating from the VI -VII century .

2000 years ago , when the Caesar's soldiers arrived at these hills, they were so enchanted that they exclaimed "Lyhnidas", which means Lake of Light.

Now 2000 years later, foreign tourists come to the place where roman soldiers stood. They arrive not only to see the ancient mosaics, but also to visit the marvelous tombs of Selca, which astonish our modern eyes with their solemnity . Important kings are buried here, the ancestors of modern Albanians.

There are several beaches in Lin, with sand and little pebbles and with very clear water. A nice place for picnics and BBQs could be the place called "Mulliri i Vjeter", with fresh springs and trees , where the little Koran fish are growing, to later be put into the Lake Ohrid.
